What are good and bad levels of cholesterol?
I have been told to avoid cheese how do I know it is safe to use
miniCol is a healthy alternative to cheese and is perfectly safe for people with concerns about cholesterol levels to eat. The difference between traditional cheddar and miniCol is that miniCol is made from milk, which has had virtually all of its dairy fat removed and replaced with wheatgerm oil, which is high in polyunsaturated fat and plant sterols. Both of which are known to reduce cholesterol.
Studies have proven the cholesterol reducing effects of miniCol.

What are plant sterols?
Virtually all plants contain natural substances called sterols (known as phytosterols). Plant sterols are naturally occurring substances present in the diet, principally as minor components of vegetable oils. Plant sterols are effective in lowering cholesterol and this occurs by blocking the absorption of cholesterol from the diet and also by stopping the re-absorption of cholesterol produced by the liver.
